How to Remove Red Wine on Hardwood

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:


  1. Solvent-liquid, non-oily, non-caustic type sold for spot removal from garments. Use products for grease, oil and tar removal. Such as Carbona and Afta
    Important: Do not apply directly to the carpet to prevent damage to the backing.
  2. 1/4 teaspoon clear/transparent dish-washing detergent. Such as Dawn, Joy, or clear Ivory.
  3. 1 cup warm, not hot, water for solution
  4. Additional warm, not hot, water for rinsing
  5. Clean dry white cloths or white paper towels
  6. Small bowl for mixing
  7. Smooth bottomed baking dish large enough for area
  8. Heavy object, like jug of water or gallon of paint

STEP 1

Apply solvent to dry towel / cloth

Blot working from the outside in– do not rub or scrub. Scrubbing could damage the carpet fibers.
